About us

"We preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)

Hello! We're glad that you're here and interested in getting to know us. Elk Community Church is a somewhat historic church located in the heart of Elk. The church was established over one-hundred years ago and has been through some ups and downs. Over roughly the past four years, we have sought to revitalize this church and have seen fruit as God works in our midst and draws others in from the surrounding community. We are passionate about the Scriptures and desire for Christ to be glorified in our lives, families, church, and community.

The elders of Elk Community Church believe and teach the following doctrines. If you're interested in a more detailed statement of faith, then one can be provided upon request. Just email us at elkcommunitychurch@gmail.com

  1. There is one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. God is sovereign in creation, revelation, salvation, and judgment.

  3. The Bible is God’s Word, inspired, inerrant, infallible, and sufficient.

  4. Man has willfully rebelled against God and stands condemned.

  5. Jesus is the incarnate Son of God and the rightful ruler over all things.

  6. Jesus accomplished salvation through His substitutionary death and resurrection.

  7. Sinners who have faith in Christ are forgiven and justified by God’s grace.

  8. The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ, enabling them to repent, believe, and grow, and applies the work of Christ to them.

  9. The Church is the body of Christ and consists of all those who have been joined to Him by faith.

  10. The Lord Jesus Christ will return and judge the living and the dead.

  11. The story of the Bible unfolds through the biblical covenants culminating in the establishment of the New Covenant.

  12. Marriage is a lifelong covenantal commitment between one man and one woman and children are a blessing from the Lord.
